Cairo/ Iraq TradeLink; Egyptian Petroleum Minister Tariq al-Mulla announced the approval of the Egyptian Cabinet to buy Iraqi oil and sign the contract with an average imports of one million barrels per month.
This the first cooperation between the top countries in the oil field.
Earlier reports on the deal talked of refining the Iraqi oil in Egypt and to be re-sent to Iraq as oil products.
It is expected that the final signature of the contract will be completed within the coming few days, but they were waiting the final approval of the Egyptian government.
The first shipment will be done within one month’s time, the minister added.
