Abstract:
The Iraqi government, represented by the State Company for Oil Projects (SCOP) and Oil Pipelines Company (OPC), has accomplished several vital oil and gas pipeline projects since 2023. The pipelines vary in diameter from 10 to 42 inches, and in length from 1 km to more than 120 km. The pipelines serve to deliver several hydrocarbon fluids: crude oil, dry gas, LPG, fuel oil, and light products. These pipelines extend from oil and gas fields, refineries, crude oil depots, and ports to feed power stations, refineries, industrial plants, gas plants, and oil product depots. Generally, nine of these projects target power stations. It is worth recording that 10 out of 22 of the projects are planned to transport dry gas, which reflects the governmental efforts to resolve gas shortages. The total length of the pipelines is more than 1000 km.
